Wairoa: Information for families | whanāu

Members of the New Zealand Nurses Organisation are planning to take strike action from 7:00am Thursday 12 July to &:090 am Friday 13 July.

Services at Wairoa Hospital will be significantly reduced on Thursday 12 July.

IMPACT: Only emergency, life preserving services are available. If not an emergency people will should contact their GP. People will be redirected to their GP, or alternative provider.

Services open Services Closed

Pharmacy and general practices will be open as normal. GPs will be focussed on urgent cases only, so patients with regular  non-urgent appointments will be rescheduled.

Emergency Department, acute ward and maternity services will be operating essential life-preserving services only.

Radiology will be operating as usual, laboratory and allied health (physios, social workers) will be focussed on urgent work only.

Administration staff, for example reception and booking staff will be available.

Community dental services will be open as usual.

All outpatient clinic services and district nursing services will be closed.
