Sponsor a Dread for $200
Daniel Lee is a 23-year-old from Hawke’s Bay whose life was saved, when he was aged just six years, thanks to the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter service and expert medical care at Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
On 8 April in Bluff, after four long months on foot, Dan will complete his 3000km walk of the Te Araroa Trail (length of NZ) where he has raised over $12,000 for Lowe Corporation to thank the service for helping to save his life.
But his giving doesn’t stop at Bluff. Dan wants to complete his gift of giving and give thanks to Hawke’s Bay Hospital by auctioning off his dreadlocks to raise money for the Children’s Ward – a place where he spent a lot of time. The money will be put toward a special chill out area for immune-compromised children who must remain in isolation.
Help us to Ditch Dan’s Dreads and raise money for the Children’s Ward! We will be hosting Dan on Thursday 13 April to chop off his dreads and welcome you to be part of this special fundraising effort. Fill out our online registration form below and we’ll be in touch.
